- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Before proceeding, check that your account doesn't have any pending transactions.
- Transfer any money still in the account to your bank account. Check that that has proceeded smoothly before closing the PayPal account.
- This process can take 3 or 4 business days to complete, depending on your bank's procedures.

- 2Go to My Account. Click on the Profile sub-tab on the right.
- 3Select your settings. You will see an inset beneath the words My Profile, on the left. Click on the words My settings.
- 4Close your account. Click on the Close account link that is located in the Account Information row, as shown.
- 5Follow the verification prompts that come up.
- 6Finish up. When you've verified everything, and you are sure you want to close your account, click the Close Account button.
