It is a great way to catch up on news, post photos and videos, see what the stars are up to and chat to friends. Some of the famous faces who have a Twitter page include the following; Barack Obama, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, to name but a mere few.
The combination of the two
So how is television and Twitter becoming combined? Well, social television is already unfolding because popular television shows are asking viewers to tweet in their views on the show or topics that have been raised on the show. A selection of the tweets that have been sent in are then displayed across the screen. This is a great marketing tool for the program in question but it is also a great way of viewers getting involved and sharing their thoughts and opinions. After all, it is the viewers who make the shows and viewers want to feel like they are a proper part of the full experience. They want to engage with the show and stamp their mark on it.
The future…
It is very likely that in the future the bond between television and social networking is likely to go a lot further than what has just been mentioned. In the future it is likely that people can expect to see all sorts of innovative technology which merge the two together to create exciting concepts. For instance, there is a chance that one will be able to check their social networking pages on the television. Moreover, there is also the possibility that the internet or the TV will recommend what channels a person should watch based on those they are following on Twitter or have liked on Facebook.
